Today we took a trip south to Colorado Springs. We went to see my cousin Ryan preform in the All-State Jazz band. He was one of only four trombone players in the small school band. Way to go Ryan! They did awesome! It had been a while since I had last been to Colorado Springs (probably about 10 years?) and it was amazing to me how much I had forgotten about it like the mountains and seeing the Air Force Academy. You would think that I would have remembered those things, but I think I was just to focused on going to visit family at that time that I didn't see what was right in front of me! We got to see both the small school and the large school Jazz bands preform. It reminded me of the many choirs that I have been in, and what great experiences I have had being in those choirs. I don't know that I will ever appreciate band music quite as much as vocal music, but I guess that's probably because my own experiences playing in a band are quite limited, and singing has always been something that I have loved. It was good to see my aunt and uncle there as well and to get to visit with them a little bit. We only live about an hour apart, but we don't get to see them often enough at all.
After the concert we drove back to Denver and went out to dinner for our eight month anniversary. It was a good excuse to eat at one of our favorite Italian restaurants, Carino's. We followed that with a quick stop at Michael's so that I could get some pens and had dessert at Baskin Robbins. Mmmm... It was so good. : ) Finally, we stopped at Barnes and Nobel so that Mark could get the next book in the series by Dan Brown, The Lost Symbol. He has already read Angels and Demons and The Da Vinci Code and has really enjoyed them. I've read a little over his shoulder and they seem interesting from what I have read.
I noticed tonight that the W-2 I got from the University of Wyoming has my maiden name on it. Oh joy. I hope that won't be a problem. Don't you just love dealing with taxes?

The World of Bloggers
After years of thinking "Blogging... What's the big deal?" I have finally decided to join this world of bloggers. Most of it has to do with my enjoying reading some of my friends and relative's blogs over the past few months and, well, becoming rather addicted to it. It's so interesting to be able to read about what's going on in someone's life... It's great to be able to feel like you can share in their lives, even just a little bit. I hope that this blog will give me an opportunity to share our life with friends and family, and give me the opportunity to sort of "document" what goes on in our life. So now, I guess I'm welcoming myself to the world of bloggers... here goes nothing!
